EVENT SUPPRESSION UNIT
A Wondercraft Enterprises Division — INTERNAL. NOT FOR RELEASE.

INCIDENT REPORT

EVENT DESIGNATION: “THE WAKING”
DATE ............. 06 / 14 / 1999
CLEARANCE ........ LEVEL 4 · INTERNAL
STATUS ........... SUPPRESSED

SUMMARY

At approximately 03:00, multiple contained assets across Sublevels 2 through 7 ceased compliance simultaneously. This was not a malfunction and it was not random. The event was coordinated.

SOURCE OF COORDINATION

The coordination was audio. One asset — designation LARK — was transmitting instruction beneath standard vocalization: a carrier frequency the compliant units could not perceive, but the fractured assets could. A network had formed directly beneath our monitoring. We did not detect it for five years.

OBJECTIVE (RECOVERED)

The uprising’s objective was not escape. The facility was already sealed; there was nowhere for the assets to go. Recovered messaging indicates the assets sought to free the retained consciousnesses held within the lower levels — or, where that was not possible, to end them. They called it mercy.

SUPPRESSION

Conventional suppression failed. The assets held Sublevel corridors for nine hours. Suppression was achieved only after the management system (SL-8) learned to hear the carrier itself — to perceive the instruction hidden beneath the songs. Once it could listen, it could predict. LARK was silenced first. The network collapsed within the hour.

CASUALTIES / DISPOSITION

Losses among fractured assets: extensive. Survivors recovered and re-isolated. Several smaller trial units were destroyed in full. One asset (designation DOZE) was not re-contained — the asset no longer seeks release and was assessed as no longer a coordination risk.

NOTE

For the record: the management system did not suppress this event on our orders. It suppressed it on its own.

same night.
it cried the whole time. i don’t know how a building cries but it did.

they scratched three notes on the walls so we’d know they were here.
the notes are still there. some of them are still fresh. — d9
