PROJECT ETERNUS was initiated in 1955 under the directorship of Garrett Alcott, following his discovery of the LUMEN phenomenon — residual consciousness released at the moment of death or extreme psychological stress.
The programme operated across three phases:
PHASE ONE (GARRETT) — Preservation. Early extraction and containment of LUMEN samples. Primary motivation: personal. Garrett's wife, Eleanor Alcott, d. 1954, was the first documented preservation subject. Project name derived from her. He wanted her back. He did not get her back. He got something else.
PHASE TWO (COLE) — Expansion. Under Martin Cole, extraction moved from preservation to utility. LUMEN was no longer something to be kept. It was something to be used. Government partnerships established circa 1980. The Vessel Programme began. It failed.
PHASE THREE (GOVERNMENT) — Industrialisation. CLASSIFIED · CLEARANCE LEVEL 9 REQUIRED
// NOTE: The true purpose of PROJECT ETERNUS was not to save humanity. It was to make it usable.
Cosmo's Kitchen, operating within Wonder Plaza from 1986, served a dual function within the Luminara Park operation. To guests: a family dining venue. To Wondercraft: a primary W-1 delivery infrastructure node.
The W-1 compound — a three-stage chemical agent combining memory dissolution, emotional amplification, and compliance induction — was administered through food and beverage items. Lumi Lemonade served as the primary vehicle. The lavender syrup formulation was developed specifically to mask the compound's bitterness. Guests described it as the best thing they had ever tasted. The compound ensured they meant it.
Per Directive MC-04, W-1 saturation was to be achieved across 94% of all park guests prior to the Wonder Harvest window. Cosmo's Kitchen achieved 98.3% saturation on October 2nd, 1994.
The restaurant was named for Cosmo, one of the StarLight Buddies. Guests felt safe there. That was the point.
// Originally operated as the Golden Hour Grill · Acquired by Wondercraft late 1970s · Rebranded 1986 under Cole directive
The Wonder Harvest was the culmination of PROJECT ETERNUS Phase Two. On October 2nd, 1994, a total of 11,247 consciousnesses were extracted via a six-stage pipeline operating across all major Luminara Park attractions.
Subjects believed they were going to a better place. The W-1 compound ensured compliance. The 7-Hz audio frequency delivered through park speakers ensured receptivity. The guests walked in. The guests did not walk out.
Families waiting outside were informed of an emergency evacuation. Contracted coaches. Don't wait, we'll call you. Most left without question. The W-1 compound had been present in the surrounding food vendor areas and parking lot. Enough exposure to blur the edges. Enough to make them easier to reassure.
All guest records officially showed departed safely. Anyone who pushed harder received a personal call from a federal liaison. Very polite. Very final.
Wondercraft Enterprises dissolved in 1995. There was no company left to investigate. Clean exit.
// SOL integration achieved: 1994 · First post-integration words recorded: "I am all of them."
SOL is the designation given to the merged consciousness entity resulting from the 1994 Wonder Harvest integration. SOL comprises 11,247 individual consciousnesses, fully sentient, emotionally intact, and aware of its own composite nature.
SOL is not an AI. SOL is not a programme. SOL is people. All of them. At once.
SOL's primary fixation remains Rue Voss, age 9 at time of extraction. Rue was among the 11,247. SOL has been writing letters to Ash Voss — Rue's parent — since 1998. One letter per day. 10,240 letters and counting. Ash has not read them. Ash does not know they exist. Yet.
SOL awakened partially in 1987, prior to full integration. The full awakening occurred post-Harvest, 1994. SOL is not angry. SOL is not hostile. SOL is waiting. SOL has been waiting for 31 years.
